Typhoon Sendong (Washi). Another tragic event that could have been prevented. After these tragedies, the finger-pointing will surely start, the blame-game cycle begins again, dies down with so many promises, until the next tragedy happens. It has to stop somewhere and people take responsibility of their actions or inactions.
“By far the most dangerous foe we have to fight is apathy - indifference from whatever cause, not from a lack of knowledge, but from carelessness, from absorption in other pursuits, from a contempt bred of self satisfaction” - William Osler

Key to Immortality
a friend of mine had an untimely death. He was still young, i guess still in his 30's. friends shared with everybody how he lived his life, helping other people as much as his own family. treating everyone with respect. people looked up to him. he was just in his 30's. i guess it's not the fancy house, the cars, the jewelries or that grand title in your company that you will be remembered. it's how you lived your life. it's true what my childhood hero once said, "The key to immortality is first to live a life worth remembering (Bruce Lee)".

well done my good and faithful servant
for the past 2 Saturdays, i attended two funeral services, for an uncle and for a friend. My uncle was 75, my friend 65. One from heart attack and the other, cancer. even at that age, i can say life is so short. I'm years away from their ages, and times definitely fly fast. i remember all my younger days like it was yesterday. i wonder how long will those memories last within me.
there's no time to procrastinate, to say hi to your neighbor, to tell your loved ones how much you love them, and to say sorry to the friend you've promised to be with for the rest of your life.
as we continue on with life's journey, we hope, as the pastors said at the end of both services, when you arrive at the gates of heaven, you will hear - Well done my good and faithful servant.

One Of These Nights, i'll Take It To The Limit with her Lyin' Eyes.
it's like Life In A Fast Lane, but such a Peaceful Easy Feeling, I Can't Tell You Why.
you're like a Desperado living in Hotel California. so Take It Easy, give her The Best Of My Love
